How do I sign up for curbside recycle collection service?
To sign up, Click Here and fill out our service request form. You can then either send a check or money order made payable to Scenic City Recycling to our address (at the bottom of this page), OR, pay online. (A Handling charge is added for online payments.) After receiving payment for Residential Service, we will deliver receptacles on the next scheduled collection day for your area. Your service will begin the following week. Commercial clients (businesses and entities), please call 423-933-4361 to set up your recycling program.
On what day are recyclables collected in my area?
Recyclables collection is done weekly based on which neighborhood you live in. Please check our areas/schedule page for your location.
What is the cost for commercial recycling collection?
We calculate rates for commercial clients by conducting a one-month trial period (free of charge if service is not continued after first month). Once the volume and number of collections per week is established, a final monthly rate is calculated. Please contact us for estimates.
What kind of recycling bins do you supply?
For Residential Clients, we supply (2) 18-gallon containers with our phone number and website on the side. For customers in need of larger bins we offer 50 and 95-gallon containers with wheels. Commercial Clients will be supplied 1, 2, or 3 95-gallon containers on wheels, as needed. The containers are SCR property and if for any reason service is discontinued, the containers will be picked up. Please take care to not lose or break the lids, as they are not sold separately.
Where do my recyclables go?
Recyclables are recycled through a number of organizations including, but not limited to, West Rock, The Community Kitchen, Partnership for Families, Children and Adults.
What recyclables do you collect?
- Plastics (#1 through #7)
- Paper (junk mail, office paper, cereal boxes, etc.)
- Cardboard (boxes must be broken down and flattened)
- Aluminum cans, foil and pie plates
- Tin cans
- Cartons (milk, juice, etc.)
- Shredded paper
- Books and magazines
- Clothes and gently worn shoes (cleaned, bagged and tied separately)
- Computers and small electronics (no TV’s, computer monitors or appliances)
- Cell phones (donated to Partnerships for Families,
bag separately) - Batteries (bag separately)
- Ink and toner cartridges (bag separately)

Recyclables are recycled through a number of organizations including, but not limited to, Rock-Tenn, Caraustar, Orange Grove, The Community Kitchen, Partnership for Families and Scott Recycling.
How are invoices delivered and what are the Billing Cycle options?
Invoices can either be delivered by email or by ground mail. After the initial 6-month sign up period, Residential Clients have the option of being billed every 3, 6, or 12 months. Commercial Clients will be billed as mutually determined and agreed.
How do I pay my invoice?
Invoices can be paid by mailing a check or paying online, using Paypal or Credit Card. For online payments only 6 and 12 month billing cycle options are available and there is a small convinenece fee add to cover our additional transaction costs.
