How do I sign up for curbside recycle collection service?

To sign up, Click Here and fill out our service request form. We will get back to you to set up your account, have your bin dropped off, and set up your payment.

Commercial clients (businesses and entities), please call 423-933-4361 to set up your recycling program.

On what day are recyclables collected in my area?

Recyclables collection is done weekly based on which neighborhood you live in. Please check our areas/schedule page for your location.

What is the cost for commercial recycling collection?

We calculate rates for commercial clients by conducting a one-month trial period. Once the volume and number of collections per week is established, a final monthly rate is calculated. Please contact us for a free quote.

What kind of recycling bins do you supply?

For Residential Clients, we supply 50-gallon and 95-gallon containers with wheels. Commercial Clients will be supplied 1, 2, or 3 95-gallon containers on wheels, as needed. The containers are SCR property and if for any reason service is discontinued, the containers will be picked up. Please take care to not lose or break the lids, as they are not sold separately.

What if SCR misses a Pickup?

If we are unable to pick up on your scheduled day, we will alert you by emailing from info@sceniccityrecycling.com. We try our best to provide alternate pickup days, but it’s not guaranteed. The standard makeup day is the following day.

In the unlikely event we have 5 or more missed pickups, we will issue a credit.

We provide 4 Complimentary Pickups per year. How? In the 4 months that have 5 weeks, we only bill for 4 pickups. This creates a “credit” that covers any missed pickups due to equipment, staffing, weather issues beyond our control, or Holidays.

Where do my recyclables go?

Recyclables are recycled through a number of organizations including, but not limited to, West Rock, The Community Kitchen, Partnership for Families, Children and Adults.

What recyclables do you collect?

  • Cardboard (boxes must be broken down and flattened)

  • Plastics #1PET Drink Bottles & #2 HDPE Jugs & Bottles

  • Mixed Paper: Mail Magazines, Phone Books & Newspaper

  • Paper Based Food Service Packaging

  • Food Boxes & Cartons

  • Aluminum cans

  • Steel Cans (Must be clean and empty)

Items Below are to be bagged separately and places on top or next to bin

  • Clothes and gently worn shoes (cleaned, bagged and tied separately)

  • Laptops and small electronics (no TV’s, computer monitors or appliances)

  • Cell phones (donated to Partnerships for Families, bag seperately)

  • Batteries (bag separately)

  • Ink and toner cartridges (bag separately)

How are invoices delivered and what are the Billing Cycle options?

Invoices can either be delivered by email or by ground mail. Residential Clients have the option of being billed quarterly or annually. Commercial Clients will be billed as mutually determined and agreed.

How do I pay my invoice?

Invoices are sent via email at the beginning of your billing cycle. Your invoice may be paid through our online billing portal here. All debit or credit card payments a processing fee is added.
